This Makes Scents
If you're like me, you love scented candles. They can make a home cozy and welcoming, and they smell amazing! But there are so many options out there (especially when it comes to soy or beeswax candles), that it can be difficult to choose just one! That's why I've put together this guide to help you navigate the world of scented candles:
Scented candles can transform your space into a cozy nook
Scented candles can also be used to create a cozy space. Not only are scented candles a great way to add warmth and comfort to your home, but they can also do wonders for your mental health. If you’re looking for a way to relax, look no further than your local candle shop!
Candles make it easy to breathe in beautiful smells while adding some much-needed ambiance wherever they go. Plus, they're super versatile: whether you want something light and fruity or earthy and warm—or even something spicy or floral—there's sure to be an option available that suits your taste buds perfectly.
Natural scented candles are the best
If you're going to light a candle, it makes sense to choose a natural scented candle over one that has been artificially made. Naturally scented candles are safer for you and the environment, as well as being better for your health.
Scented candles have long been associated with causing headaches and allergies. The artificial fragrances used in most decorative candles can aggravate breathing difficulties, asthma and other respiratory conditions. The chemicals used in these products are often derived from petroleum products (such as benzene) or paraffin waxes (which come from crude oil). Both materials have been linked to cancerous tumours in lab studies on animals.
Scented and unscented candles are basically the same as far as quality goes
Scented and unscented candles are basically the same as far as quality goes, but obviously scented candles have that extra element. Unscented candles are made with all-natural ingredients like beeswax, soybean oil, coconut oil and more. They smell like nothing but the wax itself, which can be a good thing if you’re looking for a non-fragranced candle that won’t overpower your home with any particular scent.
Scents of all varieties have their benefits: from energizing citrus to relaxing lavender—the possibilities are endless! Some people prefer to burn scented candles because they find them more enjoyable than unscented ones (which some say smell “unnatural” compared to scented ones), while others prefer unscented because they don't want their rooms filled with strong smells or artificial fragrances. In general though, both types will provide lighting without making your house smell weirdly like fruit salad or other strange combinations!
Soy wax is healthier for you, but it's not necessarily better
Soy wax is a better option for the environment, but you should know that it isn't necessarily better for your health. Soy candles are made from soybean oil and other plant-based ingredients such as coconut oil and palm wax. This means they burn slower and longer than traditional paraffin candles, which contain petroleum products like paraffin or beeswax.
Soy candles are also healthier for you because they emit fewer toxins when burned than traditional paraffin candles do—but only if you choose to buy organic soy wax rather than non-organic soy wax. Organic soy wax comes from plants grown without pesticides or herbicides in order to protect the workers who harvest them and prevent pollution of nearby groundwater supplies; it also reduces the amount of harmful chemicals released into our air when burned because these chemicals don’t exist in nature at all—they come from manmade materials instead!
If you want to buy soy wax candles, be sure to check out how they were made
If you’re looking for a safer, healthier candle option, soy wax is a great choice. It is made from soy bean oil and is then infused with fragrance oils. Soy candles are also non-toxic, biodegradable and non-allergenic. They burn for about 40% longer than paraffin candles do because of their higher melting point (which means they can withstand hotter temperatures).
Most candles contain some type of paraffin - what to know
In order to understand why soy wax is better for the environment, let’s look at paraffin wax first. Paraffin wax is a petroleum product that can be used to make candles as well as other items like cosmetics and crayons. It is also used in some types of fuel, such as kerosene and diesel.
You might be wondering why paraffin wax would be used in candles when it comes from oil or natural gas. The reason is that this type of wax has a low melting point, which makes it easy to melt down into liquid form so that it can be poured over wicks inserted into candle molds (or with hand pouring methods). It also burns slowly because its molecules are large, meaning they burn up slowly over time—this helps create longer-lasting flames!
Now let's turn our attention back towards soy waxes—what do these products have going for them? Soybeans are grown here in North America and processed into oils; one such oil called soybean oil can then be mixed with other ingredients like lanolin or beeswaxes before being melted down into liquid form like we discussed earlier. So technically speaking there's no true difference between paraffin/coconut/beeswaxes when comparing them against their counterparts made from palm oils found elsewhere around the world--the only real difference lies within where these materials come from: either domestically sourced (North America) versus imported from abroad (South America). In addition to being home grown however many companies have started using renewable energy sources such as wind turbines or solar panels which help offset some costs associated with production processes that may otherwise have been met by burning fossil fuels overseas instead."
You can even make your own scented candles at home if you're feeling crafty
If you're feeling crafty, you can even make your own scented candles at home. The materials are easy to find in a craft store and it's simple to do once you get the hang of it. To start, you'll need one pound of soy wax or beeswax (or if you're feeling adventurous, try using a combination of both), a wick that matches the diameter of your candle mold by cutting it down to size, and essential oils (we recommend lavender or lemongrass). To melt the wax in an oven-safe bowl, place it on top of another dish filled with hot water and keep stirring until melted. Then pour the liquid into each mold so that they're just over half full. Place them on a cookie sheet lined with parchment or tin foil for easy cleanup later on when removing from molds. Once all six molds have been filled up with liquid wax—two tablespoons per 1/4 cup is ideal—place them into an oven that has been preheated between 170°F - 200°F for about 20 minutes until completely solidified again!
Scents can make a home cozy and welcoming!
Scented candles can make a home feel warm and cozy. This is especially true if you choose a candle that evokes memories of being at the beach or in a forest on a sunny day. You may have been away from home for months, but when you see this candle, it might remind you of being with family in Florida or on vacation in Tahiti.
Scents can also make your home smell good! When my daughter comes home from school, she often asks me to put some scented oil into her diffuser because she likes how it smells so much better than her mom’s perfume—and I do too! I’ve also noticed that as soon as someone walks through our front door after having been away for more than 24 hours (or even less), their eyes light up when they catch sight of our collection of decorative jars filled with essential oils and blends like lavender-patchouli or peppermint-ginger-eucalyptus; they know they are coming back to somewhere special where they can relax and recharge their batteries before going out into the world again later today.*
We hope you have a better understanding of scented candles and how they can transform your home into something special. Candle scents are just one way to bring some cheer into your life, but there are many more ways as well! We know that there's nothing quite like the feeling when you walk into a room and it smells like heaven. It doesn't matter if it comes from natural ingredients or artificial ones; all that matters is that your home feels welcoming and cozy because of them - whether it's through candles or flowers or something else entirely.
